Hi, my name is Vivienne Carter and I have a diet and exercise regime that I am going to need help with and in turn to help you equally, so Please read all of this before giving in because together it WILL work!
My idea for this summer is work really hard and loose those last two stone to reduce me to my target of 9 stone.
Last year I was 13 stone when I began now I am 11... I did not use some magical drug it was pure hard work! Even better all the eating habits I endured during my diet last summer helped me maintain this weight since giving up in September. However I am now ready (I think) to get get back on the ball and continue.
PS lost those two stone while working at Mc Donalds...so if any of you are slaves to the fast food industry I can tell you it is totally possible to achieve this without giving up everything you love.
But this time I want a support network to share and help with the process. Because as anyone who has ever tried dieting and enduring exercise IT IS NEVER easy.
So my circumstances for this summer so far stand
-searching for a job after first year in uni (late bloomer)
-scraping together as much cash as possible to study as part of my course next year in Uni in America.
-and finally trying as hard as possible to integrate with my Church again after spending a somewhat solitary year in Uni.
So who's with me?
I have a very simple plan that I'm sure loads of people have used before but it worked before for me so I trust it to work again.
This is a calorie controlled diet and I will pick very picky! Weightwatchers items will also probably get a lot of endorsement from me so please don't be surprised. I wholeheartedly believe in home cooking, or at least home cooking with a brand name, sweetner and tea and coffee!
I should probably mention I am also a vegetarian so most of the recipes I will post will be vegetarian.(Turning Veggie by the way is also how I managed to keep the weight down)
My general rules are;
Consume only 1200 calories a day-
and exercise of 600 a day.
Last time I only exercised off 400 Kcal a day, in the end this took me approx 2 and 1/2 months then to drop two stone... maybe that seems very long to some. However I did this working full time in a stuffy, horrible, stressful and tempting environment. So this time it WILL be better, I Will be a lot more positive!
Also this time I will use Yoga as a combined method. Now I have already been doing Yoga a couple of times a week for about 6 weeks and feel myself already more flexible and daily craving the need to bend into those magical poses I could never do before-so I thank Sadie Nardini for her Youtube posts.
What will you need?
I definitely recommend some kind of running instrument i.e. airwalker or treadmill(I will be using an airwalker when it finally arrives back from sportsdirect) if you do not have one of these I seriously reccomend investing however I am a really self concious person and this is something I hope to work towards during the course of this.
Simply you could use the road/footpath that many of us have surrounding our homes anyway. If you are this brave definitely do it maybe you could be an inspiration to me. An internet connection is desirable to keep in touch with the blogs and to watch the yoga sessions and finally you WILL need inspiration!
Now this can just be buying the enquirer weekly to torment yourself looking at thin celeb's- but it also gives you something to read instead of eating. Trust me become totally fixated on something i.e. a t.v show you can watch online or an old/new DVD box set you've been meaning to re/watch for ages.
Through my blogging I will try to recommend music or things you could listen to to help keep the motivation up, recipes, and just daily motivational tips. I learned last year weight loss is pure motivation. The one thing that is really driving me is being able to show of a slimmer sleeker body next year in the uni gym and on the grounds when I go for 6am jogs- So strive toward a goal!
Also hobbies great thing to have-anything that keeps your head and hands out of the kitchen. For example I a writer and this summer have tons of intentions to finish and start books. The best thing about this is literally you live in a dream world for hours on end. (May I add this is a totally new thing and I did not do this last year. Last year I had no hobbies now that was...Hard) Also good would be reading, hanging with friends searching the internet endlessly-working-I know its probably the last thing you want to have more of but if you have a job that you are not allowed (not suppose)to eat on then this is the perfect way to earn extra cash and keep busy enough not to eat.
Time to Start
I intend to begin this Monday the 24th of May 2010 so if you are with me I have some tips to gets you all prepared to:-
-buy a new workout outfit-something stretchy you will need to to be able to cling to you in a couple of weeks :)
-you could join a gym- if you did I think you would be burning a lot more calories than even me.
-mp3 even a little thing it will keep you amused/ entrained while exercising.
-get that hobby ready and check out- www.audible.co.uk for your mp3
-calculator-or just use you phone it will be loads handier
- add me on twitter and in 140 words there will be little tid bits of info for your regime- 'reducethepounds'
-here are the yoga links you'll need, now these are recommended for beginners or overweight yogis... so they are simple-
watch them a couple of times first then you can mute her and add the music.
-Serioiusly get addicted to tea or coffee-but this is really only going to work if you have you take sweetener and literally a 'dash' of milk (semi-skimmed, skimmed or some really low fat alternative)
-buy Multivitamins! Your body is about to go through a real shock and it needs to keep up your essentials! Cheap ones are fine, being a vegetarian I gave blood recently only to find out it made me anaemic so I have to take them now. Though it has worked out perfectly because my hair and nails have started a great growth spurt now :) Make sure they are Multivitamins though including Iron and vitamins A,D,E and C.
-Be warned I have a real sweet tooth so I have found ways to incorporate that extra little dessert into my diet every day:)
-Buy bran flakes-they are and I have checked the lowest calorie cereal on the market
-Buy cheap scales you will need these a lot this is going to call for a lot of precision!
- Meal times get used to them 3 times a day- I'm working around these 8:30 or later for breakfast (until I get a job) 13:00 for lunch and 17:00 for dinner. This will also be really great for your teeth by the way.
-Chewing gum!
So one last time please join me honestly I really believe that together we can lose the pounds!
